Production on the short has come to a halt due to the demands of being employed again. I'll have to pick up where I left off on my next sabbatical. In the meantime, I'm just going to start posting random drawings to maintain creativity and hopefully keep this blog alive.

Back from my desert trip. Above is a picture of my bike in Arizona. A fantastic trip and beautiful country. Since I've been back though, we've had one house guest after another so I haven't done much at all. I'm trying to find a better way to post the storyboards. Since I'm occasionally going back and reworking earlier drawings, or changing the order, it's impractical to have to repost all the pages from page 1 on. I'm thinking of making a Flickr photo slideshow or something as a temporary way to view everything in it's updated order until I actually start posting a real animatic. Anyway... I'm sure no one's checking this, but if so, sorry for the lack of material. Stay tuned.

There is a missing panel linking page 1 and 2 together that I'll post soon. This probably won't make any sense to most people, but I needed to rough out some thumbnails for this page before putting any more detail in to it. more sense will come of it soon enough. :)

Also, I keep trying to post the 1st page larger, but the Blogger keeps resizing it and shrinking it down. I must be hitting some default size limit, but I can't figure out how to change that yet.

Finally at home full time. I've been spending the past few days drinking beers and relaxing, but I think now I should start ramping in to being productive. So, right now I'm trying to redraw my storyboards so people other than myself can understand what's going on. Then the plan is to assemble them in to an animatic and work with that for awhile until it's locked down tight before moving on to actually animating anything.

Anyway, here's something I'm currently sketching out. Just throwing this up there to get me started.

Big News!

I know I haven't updated in awhile, but that in no way means that nothing is happening. I have recently arranged to take 3 months off from work after I finish my time on "Priest," which is currently scheduled to wrap at the end of April or early May. I plan to devote 100% of my time-off to the short so I should be making significant progress. No more of this "modeling a couple of rocks over the weekend" business.

Right now I'm in the process of cleaning up and updating the software on an older PC that I'll be temporarily handing over to a colleague so he can rig the characters at home. I'm really excited about getting a "real" character rigger to contribute and of course, excited about my upcoming time-off! Can't wait!
